Bardardo’s Shop at Consett had a new temporary member of staff on Saturday. North West Durham MP, Hilary Armstrong volunteered to help out as part of “Make A Difference Day”. The day is the UK’s largest day of volunteering action. As part of Make a Difference Day, Barnardo's encouraged the public to give up some time and volunteer in one of its shops, which help to raise funds for families living in poverty. During her shift, Hilary helped staff and volunteers sort out stock and served on the till. Hilary Armstrong MP said ”I enjoyed helping at Barnado’s and it was great to see the dedication of the local staff and volunteers. Volunteers are somewhat unsung heroes of our society and its right we highlight their work in helping their community.”
"Volunteering in your local Barnardo's shop is of enormous benefit
to the charity.
