Houses of ParliamentResidents of North West Durham can arrange to visit the House of Parliament or attend a debate through the Office of Hilary Armstrong MP. People not residing in this constituency have to go through their own Member of Parliament.

The Palace of Westminster provides official Tours of both Houses and the public areas of the Palace. These can be booked (subject to availability) by contacting Carole Storey in the Constituency Office on 01388 767 065 or by clicking here. Please tell us how many tickets your require and give as much prior notice as possible.

At present, tours are only available on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings and on Fridays – all day if the Commons are not sitting, late afternoon if they are. There will be no access to the Commons chamber for tours starting after 09.20 on Wednesday mornings.

Following the General Election on 5 May 2005, the Fridays announced as sitting Fridays are:
14, 21 & 28 October; 11 November; 2 December 2005; 20 January; 3, 10 & 17 March; 12 May; 16 June; 14 July; 20 October 2006

During the Summer Recess, tours can been booked independently of your Member of Parliament's Office. Details can be found on the Parliament website.

Constituents of North West Durham can also apply for tickets to view debates in the House of Commons from the public gallery. The biggest demand for tickets comes for Prime Minister's Questions. Each MP is allocated a small number of tickets every few months. To check the next date for tickets allocated to Hilary Armstrong contact the office.
